A message from Gonzalo Camarillo,
Internet Society Board Chair

The Internet Society Board of Trustees invites you to join us for InterCommunity 2016. We will tap the power of the global Internet to bring our members together for conversations on the issues we all care deeply about – connecting the unconnected and increasing trust in the Internet. Join online from anywhere or in-person at select locations.

Help us celebrate the power of our community as we work together for a common purpose around the world. I hope you will plan to attend InterCommunity 2016.

You can participate online or in-person at a Node in your area

Join the meeting from wherever you are. The only thing you need is an Internet connection and a computer. Since we’re active everywhere around the globe we needed a creative schedule to allow everyone to take part. We’ll offer three different session times to join online. This is a truly global event where each session will offer something different. In addition, there will be regional events starting two hours before each global session where discussions will focus on the regional character of the access, trust, security and Internet governance issues. You are invited to join these sessions as well.

Join us at the time that suits you:

Global Session 1 – from 08:00 – 10:00 UTC

This session time is friendly if you are in Asia Pacific.

Join in-person at an Interactive Node

Interactive Node events are key to InterCommunity. Join in person to interact with your local community and other Interactive Nodes!

Interactive Node Locations

Join in-person at a Viewing Node

Viewing Nodes are small local gatherings, hosted informally. While these will not be as interactive, you can still join the online conversation via chat, Q&A, and social media. And, attending a Viewing Node means you can meet and network with other Internet Society members in your area.

If you are attending an interactive node or a viewing node and you want to:

  • Chat
  • View Session Information
  • Submit questions and participate in Polls via Conferences IO
  • Download any shared resources or visit any shared links
  • View the Twitter Hash

Then please use this URL: http://digitell.io/ic2016node

This is the link for the InterCommunity 2016 Portal for Interactive and Viewing node attendees ONLY. With this version of the Portal attendees will not be able to access the audio or the video.
